While I loved the showcase of Motown, a turning point for me was seeing Savoy Brown (British Blues) which inspired me to learn my first song by ear, “Louisiana Blues”. This fostered a lifelong love of the blues, searching for the legendary originals, in addition to the covers which I equally appreciated. How lucky to have both Robin and Casey Kasem (graduation speaker at WSU when I received my M.S.). Too cool growing up in Detroit.
