I first met Bob (GG) in my teens, (late 60's) He along with my late older brother were taking guitar lessons from Bart Fiori at Cailotto music on Harper Ave. in Detroit across from the Harper theater (now Harpos). Bob jammed in my parents basement on Lenox St. dozens of times. We became great friends and hung out for many years, through many different bands. Lickin' stick had an old storefront on the east side that they rehearsed at. So many exceptional memories from those days. Great Detroit Rock N' Roll!!! I went to Cleveland with the band when they backed up Chuck Berry. Many nights at the Red Carpet and Traxx on the East side. Bob was pure east side rock n' roll at it's very best. If you were ever lucky enough to have seen the Torpedos at the rug, you know exactly what I'm talking about.... R.I.P. my brother.

Mike Terhune

June 27, 2022 8:25 AMAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05815094668773651131noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1512068557251658315.post-2857074620643618402022-06-21T06:22:39.211-04:002022-06-21T06:22:39.211-04:00This is a wonderful tribute…
Robert and I grew up ...This is a wonderful tribute…
Robert and I grew up on the East Side…we started playing together when we were both ten…taking lessons from Al Dame at the Music Box next to the Civic Theater. We learned a lot of Beatle songs I have pictures of us with that first acoustic guitar you mention. I went on to be a sound guy, touring with and mixing nine artists that are in the hall of fame…and Robert (GG as we called him then)…well he went on to be one of the best…..
Jay “Hot Sam” BarthJay “Hot Sam” Barthhttp://jaybarth.comnoreply@blogger.com
